In 1997, eighteen year old Jerry Rodriguez introduced Hampton Roads to the first Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant. He modeled the restaurant after the original Guadalajara Restaurant, which his father opened in 1992 in Greenville, South Carolina. Rodriguez found that the key to the restaurant's success was based in serving quality, authentic Mexican food, made from scratch margaritas, and superior customer service.

Guadalajara Mexican Cantina, which opened in 2000, has a relaxed and casual setting on the oceanfront. Locals and tourists alike can enjoy patio dining while feeling the cool ocean breeze.
